i think they're both solid debaters, the president of the united states, i moderate rated four debates four years ago when he did debates and didn't have to do any this cycle because no one was challenging him for the democratic presidential nomination. i did moderate four last time including that final one-on-one debate that he did with hillary clinton at the kodak theater in los angeles and he is very good and hillary clinton i thought was a better debater and ironically joe biden and chris dodd did really well and the president obviously got the democratic nomination. he is a very solid debater. i moderate rated four republican presidential debates with mitt romney and i have the same feeling about him. very solid. knows his stuff. these will be really good debates. they both know their stuff and i am looking forward to it and i am not lowering or raising anybody's expectations. i think the challenge will be on both to get the job done 90 minutes. there are strict rules as you know next wednesday night, how long they can speak and rebuttle and what the moderators can do if you will

going to become the next president of the united states. >> okay. just to clarify, the romney campaign is running no ads whatsoever in pennsylvania. mr. romney is down 12 points in "the new york times" poll this week. pennsylvania is not in play. i guess that's why tonight he'll head up to battleground massachusetts. yes, another fund-raiser. this time with the president of the new england patriots, son of the patriots owner. good thing that strike is over. could be a bit awkward collecting 75 grand a plate. if you're wondering why mitt romney isn't complaining in, say, florida, it may be that mitt romney never, ever wants to cibo se see boca raton again. case in point, vice president joe biden in boca raton this afternoon who had a quite different view of the 47%. >> these people are fighting back with every single thing they have. i don't sense any sense of dependency. they're just looking for a little opportunity, a level playing field, a fair shot. my dad used to say, joey, i don't expect the government to solve my problems but i do expect them

states. america and israel hold a certain values, pluralism, tolerance, religious pluralism, equal rights for women, all of these things. we are in a cultural war, a clash of civilizations. the media continue to buy into this myth that they bought into during world war ii and in the months and years preceding it, that dictators can be appeased by simply giving something that they lack. and you see that in the editorials and the columns in most of the new york times and l.a. times, wrong. >> rick: and the photos of prime minister netanyahu posing as the worst dictator in the history of dictatorships, what were they doing, other than show political bias? >> it was an accident. what's reallily particularly atrocious about this, i'm know the a huge netanyahu fan, abouter say, but the fact that they have so much animus towards him that they don't have to ahmadnejad. if you compared the two, i don't think they should be allowed to send the picture out like that. you don't see them expressing anger

the simple fact the united states gets to meet with whomever they want to meet with. it's a silly argument to say we didn't get a formal request to meet in new york and the president is not going to be there and we're going miss each other in washington. if you want to meet with the israelis and meet with the pakistanis you get to meet with them. >> jon: so is the media defending the president on this? >> i mean it depends on who you talk to. the administration didn't get a request. i defer to judy on this. i think the question has to be raised what is obama administration supposed to do. are they going to agree to go to war with iran. that is conversation that needs to be have instead of the tit-for-tat did they have meeting here. what are we talking about here. >> i think the subject, joe cline articulated one view is he called netanyahu's statement treajdz and disgusting. there is a lot of disgust going around the capital because he, quote, dared to interject himself into american politics. the line the obama line is going to be, trying to draw us into a war. that
